Unlike pre-cut lumber, live edge slabs are a bit less exact, and hardly ever flat. This uniqueness is part of their charm! However, it doesn’t work well to have a countertop, dining room, or coffee table that is buckled, uneven, or has ridges.
If you are a woodworker or furniture maker interested in streamlining your processes, and starting your projects with a material that is more refined, we’re happy to take on the first steps for you. We offer a complete range of services from large slab surfacing, custom milling, dimensioning, planing and sanding. This service is tailored to individuals who simply may not have the tools or the desire to do the heavy work of slab flattening and sanding.
We recently increased our CNC services at our shop in Maidens, Virginia. The platform is capable of surfacing and flattening slabs p to 5’ x 10′. We also provide custom design and personalizing options for your slab or board by engraving text or design on it.
The main CNC is able to cut through wood, aluminum, brass, plastic and non-ferrous metals. We have a fully stocked shop for material prep capable of jointing, planing, rip saw, re-saw, routing, sanding and even laser engraver and mills for more detailed and tough materials.
